Identified Adoptions
ASSISTING WITH IDENTIFIED ADOPTIONS IS THE EXACT REASON WE BECAME A LICENSED ADOPTION AGENCY YEARS AGO AND THIS IS THE PREDOMINANT TYPE OF ADOPTION CASES THAT WE SPECIALIZE IN HANDLING.
Little Flower Adoptions specializes in providing agency services to your adoption situation if you have located your own birth mother and she resides in Texas.
In our state, if you want to provide a birth mother with reasonable and necessary living assistance, such as rent, utilities, groceries, hygiene products, transportation, and/or maternity clothing, you must utilize the services of a licensed adoption agency. Only a licensed agency is allowed to provide this type of assistance to birth mothers on your behalf.
We are regulated and monitored by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. This type of assistance is NOT allowed in a private/direct placement adoption that may occur with the services of an attorney’s office only. So, an agency-assisted adoption plan is preferable so that you may help your birth mother with the necessary assistance she may need. When we work your adoption case, we will assign an Adoption Specialist to work with you and the birth parents in all aspects of adoptive placement.
PLEASE CONTACT THE AGENCY FOR DETAILS IN A PRIVATE OR DIRECT PLACEMENT WHEN THE BIRTH MOTHER DOES NOT NEED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
The Process is Simple
THE PROCESS OF RETAINING OUR AGENCY IS SIMPLE.
You would just complete an agency Application and provide all support documentation, as requested in the Application. This is necessary even if you are already Home Study approved, but should be much easier for you since those documents should be accessible to you through your Home Study agency. If you reside outside of Texas, you would complete this same application process to get Texas-approved to move forward with an agency-assisted adoption. Texas requires all out of state adoptive parents to gain Texas approval to proceed with a placement in our state.
If you are not Home Study approved yet, we can assist you with this process as well (you must meet qualifying parameters as set forth by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services). Please contact us for Adoption Home Study information.
Adoption Costs
ADOPTION COSTS TYPICALLY INCLUDE APPLICATION FEES AND REASONABLE BIRTH MOTHER EXPENSES.
To get started, we gather our $750 Application fee (if you are not a LFA Home Study family), an Agency Retainer, and travel/incidental expenses (amounts depend on the location and due date of the birth mother). If you need a Home Study, we would also collect the home visit fee of $750. Please see our Fee Structure/Policies that is provided to all adoptive parents applying to Little Flower Adoptions for services. You will also be provided a list of fees and expenses particular to your situation upon request for the Application.
WE MEET WITH THE BIRTH MOTHER FACE-TO-FACE after you have retained us to handle your case. We will complete an initial assessment and determine what expenses are reasonable and necessary. We always try to see the birth mother before we dispense any funds for her, but sometimes this isn’t possible due to emergency situations. Once we meet with her, a budget is established and those funds are collected and placed into an escrow account.
WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO ENSURE YOUR BIRTH MOTHER’S NEEDS ARE MET as allowed by Texas law.
